Say what you will about the death of print and the space hogging nature of physical books, cause I know this much: I'd rather live in this bookshelf house and thumb through pages than a house with Kindle-lined walls.
The homeowner wanted his house, located in Osaka, Japan, to be able to store and showcase all his books on Islamic History. The architectural team that built the house made sure the stairs, windows, desks, etc. were in "geometrical harmony" with the shelving on the walls. Squares, squares and more squares is pretty harmonious I guess.
And so what that one Kindle can probably hold all the books in this entire house. You'll never reach shelving nirvana or get any of the insulation that the books offer, so hah. [Morita-Archvia Core77]
